World Press Photo exhibition

I wake up after my road trip.... I've not been to the gym in what seems like weeks. I had wondered about heading north on my bike, but I've decided that if I sicken myself on tour cycling this early in the summer, it would be counter productive, so I pack my gym ba and head off to another Tourist attraction... The oude Kerk:

I'm not just going to the Oude Kerk.... It;s also home to the World Press Photo exhibition every year:

This is where all the award winning press photography is displayed. It's part photography exhibition and part overview of a year of world events. I've never been before, and it closes on the 18th of June, so I've decided to take advantage of the Bank Holiday monday.... Unfortunately half of Amsterdam seem to have decided to do the same... this means that the queue requires the serious attitude of Trust No one by dave Navarro:

This makes the queue disappear... Once inside... I walk round the large group of Americans at the Hurricane Katrina photos and check out the rest of the exhibition...

After viewing a photos, I realise that The Stone Roses is going to cut it better for photo viewing...

The building itself is as impressive as the photos:

The photos are good, but I am not as impressed as I thought I would be.. They successfully depict the past year of world events, but I expected more very good photos. Maybe I've been spending too much time on flickr...... There's a couple of crackers, but in general... I'm ready to head off to the gym within an hour.... It;s been a while since I've been so I jump in at the deep end....

It's been a strange weekend... The Kiwi was in Paris for the french tennis open all weekend, so the flat has been a quiet place, and I have went almost and entire weekend without alcohol... I've done a lot, but it was all new things, and I feel ready for a summer of travel - maybe even with some of that in the Nether regions.....

I hit the hay... tired... relaxed and happy.... ready for a trip to Paris in a few days....
